Speaking with confidence

Staff are increasingly being asked to present information in a variety of situations ranging from internal meetings, customer presentations and Introducing the World of Quantity Surveying to schools.   The requirement to produce material effectively and with a strong degree of impact to such differing audiences can be daunting and clarity and composure are vital. This one day course provides delegates with an-in depth understanding of the personal delivery skills that make a presentation truly effective, detailing and demonstrating a range of techniques which can be used in any relevant situation.

Creating an immediate first impression and credible introductions
Building rapport with the audience - pitching at the right level
Animating delivery by varying voice, pitch and projection
Developing conviction in your voice
Assertive delivery
Using non-verbal communication easily and effectively to enhance your delivery through eye    contact, body posture, gestures and movement
Using the space you have
Managing a microphone – wire free, hand held, podium
Keeping yourself focused, managing the time
Keeping the audience interested and focused
Common mistakes
Impromptu speaking – tips and techniques
Dealing with difficult audiences/situations and the question and answer session
How to rein in the conversation and keep control
Thinking on your feet - how to ‘buy time’ when needing to consider the answer
Knowing when to finish speaking and closing techniques
Your presentation doesn’t stop when you stop
