Redundancy and change - preparing for the transition
The news of redundancy or other significant change can be a turning point in many people’s lives. Redundancy may be virtually immediate or cover a period of notice, during which the employee continues in post. Some people react with deep dismay, shock and real worry for their future. Others may welcome the news with a sense of relief and recognition that there are new possibilities ahead of them. As well as the mixed emotions that many experience there are more tangible practicalities of preparing to deal with changed circumstances. This course offers a supportive environment and a practical approach to handling redundancy or preparing for other job-related change.
The day addresses many of the common anxieties that are expressed and suggests practical steps that need to be taken when planning for the future. It also provides a sound basis for managers charged with responsibility for handling redundancy programmes.
